His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, praised Iraqi youth during a gathering at Diwan Baghdad for academic elites, describing them as a central driving force behind the vitality and movement of Iraqi society. His Eminence stressed the importance of training, qualification, development, empowerment, and continuous evaluation, noting that many accomplished figures achieved their success at a young age, and called for confidently entrusting youth with meaningful roles and believing in their capabilities.

H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem highlighted that Al-Hikma National Movement was originally established to support and empower youth, built upon a youthful base and leadership, noting that young members make up nearly two-thirds of its leadership and political bureau. H.E. expressed strong confidence in this approach, affirming that the success of youth within Al-Hikma National Movement demonstrates their competence and ability to excel across all fields.
H.E. also voiced hope that Prime Minister-designate Mr. Ali Al-Zaidi will play an effective and impactful role in serving Iraq, recalling that previous phases witnessed leaders who proved their merit while still in mid-career.

On the regional front, H.E. pointed to the exceptional circumstances facing the region amid the war targeting the Islamic Republic of Iran, noting the scale of military and technological capabilities being deployed.

Domestically, H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem commended the peaceful transfer of power in Iraq, describing it as a unique phenomenon both nationally and regionally, recalling that in the past, the fate of leaders often ended in execution, imprisonment, or exile, whereas today authority is handed over through normal procedures, with leaders returning to civilian life.

H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem affirmed that in Eid Al-Fitr sermon, the necessity of ending political deadlock, and reiterated Al-Hikma National Movement’s support for any path that contributes to serving the country and its people.

H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem also addressed the nature of the parliamentary system, explaining that it is based on political blocs for which the public votes, with the bloc securing a simple majority forming the government. However, H.E. noted that Iraq has yet to witness a single bloc achieving such a majority, making internal cooperation essential to form the largest bloc and nominate its candidate. H.E. emphasized that consensus among blocs on selecting the prime minister is a natural and democratic process, pending the emergence of a majority bloc.

Economically, H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem renewed the warning against excessive reliance on oil, especially in light of current developments and rapid population growth, calling for activating key sectors such as agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and modern technology, so that oil becomes a secondary resource whose revenues are directed toward reconstruction and future generations’ funds.
H.E. stressed the need to empower and support the private sector to create job opportunities and reduce pressure on state institutions, expressing hope that Mr. Al-Zaidi’s government will stimulate productive sectors and move beyond bureaucratic constraints.

His Eminence concluded by emphasizing the importance of integration between elites and decision-makers, noting that such cooperation helps produce realistic and actionable visions, while calling for sound planning and stronger interconnection of Iraq’s interests with all partners.
