Sayyid Al-Hakeem Urges Active Legislative Term to Confront Economic Challenges
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mr. Farhad Al-Atrushi and several Kurdistan Democratic Party MPs, in the presence of National State Powers' Alliance MPs.
The meeting addressed upcoming political milestones and ways to activate Parliament's performance on both the oversight and legislative fronts, as H.E. stressed the importance of the next legislative term being an active one in enacting laws and overseeing government performance.
H.E. renewed calls to complete the ministerial cabinet, noting that doing so enhances Iraq's standing and grants the government sufficient scope to work, achieve reforms, and combat corruption.
H.E. outlined the nature of the current challenges, noting that the economic crisis and financial liquidity shortage represent the most prominent challenges facing the country, requiring the concerted efforts of all — political forces along with the executive and legislative authorities — to enable Iraq to overcome this stage, affirming that Iraq is a country rich in potential that needs to be activated and well managed.
