Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Iraq's Geographic Position Represents Major Strategic Economic Opportunity
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received His Excellency the Minister of Transport, Wahb Al-Hasani, at His office this morning, and listened to His Excellency's vision for reforming the transport sector in Iraq, as a strategic economic asset stemming from the country's distinctive geographic position.
During the meeting, His Eminence stressed the importance of giving due attention to the ministry's companies and turning those operating at a loss into profitable ones, affirming that the institutions of the Ministry of Transport serve as a civilizational showcase for service quality before Iraqi citizens and visitors arriving from abroad. H.E. also called for greater focus on airports and the completion of their related projects.
With regard to the Development Road project, H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem affirmed that Iraq is capable of playing a pivotal role in global trade movement through this landmark project, given the time and effort it saves in transporting goods between East and West. H.E. pointed to the importance of integrated cooperation between the ministry and local governments in driving the project forward.
His Eminence also expressed considerable interest in the Grand Faw Port, underscoring the necessity of adhering to the designated timelines for each phase of completion and ensuring the full opening of the project on its scheduled dates.
