Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Dialogue, Candor, Recourse to Constitution, Basis to Build Strong Iraq
From Dohuk Governorate, at the guesthouse of the honorable Barwari clan, the guesthouse of Sheikh Salah Adil Beg Barwari, His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, met with a gathering of the tribe's sheikhs and dignitaries, recalling a long history and milestones rich in connection with the people of Kurdistan, noting that these relations are a legacy of forefathers and ancestors, passed down to sons and grandsons, pointing out that Iraqis paid in blood and tears to be delivered from dictatorship in Halabja, the Anfal campaign, and the mass graves, until they reached the stage of managing their own country's affairs, calling for dialogue and candor to resolve outstanding issues, and considering differences to be natural in a country like Iraq, and that the flaw lies in being unable to face these differences and failing to resolve them, calling for reliance on the constitution and dialogue to build a strong Iraq.
H.E. pointed to the direct harm Iraq has suffered from the war raging in the region, calling for cohesion and bearing hardship with resolve in building Iraq, recalling the legacy of the late commander Fadhil Barwari and his role in combating terrorism, and noting that Iraq has overcome security, political, and social challenges and today faces an economic challenge, calling for putting an end to the rentier state model, and giving attention to agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and modern technology and reviving them, and calling for patience and perseverance to overcome the current crises, stressing the necessity of steering clear of regional axes, and that it is in Iraq's interest to remain close to everyone, and expressing his love and pride for the authentic Kurdish people.
