Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Diversifying Economy, Oil Export Outlets Necessary To Free Iraq From Rentierism, Strengthen National Capabilities
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received at his office in Baghdad His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Laith Al-Khazali and His Excellency Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mr. Mohammed Al-Musewi. H.E. congratulated them on winning the confidence of the Council of Representatives, wishing them success in their executive duties.
H.E. explained the nature of the phase in Iraq following the end of the mission of the International Coalition to fight ISIS, regarding it as an Iraqi message of recovery, and called for issuing reassuring messages among the Iraqi components, and for executive officials to work to serve all Iraqis.
H.E. stressed the need to implement the government program, calling for turning challenges into opportunities, and for serious work on diversifying the economy and freeing it from the rentier phenomenon.
H.E. also affirmed support for the government in its plans to raise oil production in proportion with Iraq’s capabilities and population, in addition to diversifying export outlets via a network of pipelines extending to the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.
