Sayyid Al-Hakeem Stresses Financial Reform, Economic Institution Integration
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received His Excellency the Minister of Finance, Mr. Falih Al-Sari, and discussed with him developments in the country's financial situation amid the economic crisis facing Iraq.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem stressed the importance of preparing a program-based budget targeting specific sectors according to priorities, calling for the current phase to be leveraged to diversify Iraq's sources of income, and supporting the state's direction toward maximizing revenues by increasing production and diversifying oil export outlets.
H.E. also called for developing the banking sector and employing modern technologies within it, and supporting small enterprises to provide job opportunities, in addition to integrated performance with other institutions such as the Central Bank and the Federal Board of Supreme Audit.
H.E. also stressed the priority of employees' salaries and the dues owed to farmers and contractors, noting that this priority contributes to sustaining the wheel of development and production, providing job opportunities, and reclaiming land, affirming that supporting the agricultural sector is an economic, social, and environmental necessity.
