Sayyid Al-Hakeem Receives Nechirvan Barzani, Stresses Baghdad–Erbil Cooperation, Reform Government, End Regional Conflicts
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received this evening at his office in Baghdad the President of the Kurdistan Region, Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, along with the accompanying delegation.
His Eminence welcomed President Barzani and underscored the importance of continued mutual visits between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, given their role in narrowing differences, strengthening common ground, and building on it to reach comprehensive solutions.
H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem noted that Iraq has made notable progress in overcoming the political deadlock that coincided with regional developments and military escalation, stressing the need for all parties to intensify efforts to move the country toward reconstruction, development, and sustainable growth. H.E. also reaffirmed support for Mr. Ali Al-Zaidi in forming the next government, calling for a service-oriented administration driven by economic reform and reflective of Iraq’s diverse society.
H.E. emphasized the urgency of ending ongoing conflicts across the region, bringing the war to a complete halt, and restoring stability, holding regional and international actors responsible for achieving this outcome.
H.E. further highlighted the importance of Iraq’s openness to its regional and international environment, easing tensions with all parties, and making full use of available opportunities to build relations grounded in shared interests and respect for national sovereignty.
