Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Republic’s President Stress Support Al-Zaidi, Accelerate Competent Government Formation to Confront Challenges
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Nizar Amidi, this evening at his office, where discussions focused on developments in the political landscape across Iraq and the region, as well as ways to complete constitutional entitlements and move forward with forming the next government.
H.E. noted that Iraq has made significant progress in overcoming political deadlock and assigning a new prime minister to lead the upcoming phase, underscoring the importance of supporting Mr. Ali Al-Zaidi in fulfilling his mandate and finalizing the cabinet lineup, while emphasizing the need to nominate capable figures to deliver essential services to the Iraqi people.
H.E. pointed out that the upcoming government will face serious economic and financial challenges, which requires unified backing and sustained support to enable it to carry out the necessary reforms.
H.E. also highlighted the importance of leveraging the regional and international acceptance enjoyed by the Prime Minister-designate, affirming that Iraq is part of both its regional and global environment and must remain open in a way that safeguards its interests and sovereignty. In this context, H.E. stressed the importance of integrated coordination between the executive and legislative authorities to pass key laws in the next stage.
