Sayyid Al-Hakeem Stresses End Political Deadlock Near, Calls Inclusive Government Formation, Urges Halt War Region to British Ambassador

His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received at his office in Baghdad the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Iraq, His Excellency Mr. Irfan Siddiq. The meeting addressed several key issues, foremost among them bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and peoples, and ways to advance them in a manner that serves mutual interests and upholds the country’s supreme national sovereignty.
H.E. affirmed that Iraq has made significant progress toward ending the political deadlock, with the election of the President of the Republic and the designation of a new Prime Minister. H.E. explained that political powers, including those within the Coordination Framework, are determined to ensure the success of the Prime Minister-designate, Mr. Ali Al-Zaidi. In this regard, H.E. stressed the importance of forming a government capable of representing all segments of the Iraqi people, delivering services, and addressing economic and financial challenges.
H.E. also called for a permanent halt to the war against the Islamic Republic of Iran, holding the countries of the world—particularly members of the Security Council—responsible for taking the initiative to stop the war and prevent further escalation in the region and beyond.
