Sayyid Al-Hakeem Highlights Economic Partnerships, Urges Faster Government Formation, Supports Regional Stability to EU Ambassador
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, met with the Ambassador of the European Union Mission to Iraq, His Excellency Mr. Klemens Semtner, where discussions covered a range of key issues, most notably the formation of the next government, bilateral relations, and economic partnerships with the European Union. H.E. underscored the importance of the European Union to Iraq, given the economic standing of its member states and their influence on the international stage, calling for long-term partnerships that serve shared interests and deliver mutual benefit.
H.E. also reviewed developments in the political landscape in Iraq and the region, affirming that Iraq has made considerable progress toward ending the political deadlock and is approaching the completion of constitutional entitlements through the formation of a government dedicated to serving its citizens. H.E. stressed the need to address financial and economic challenges and to attract foreign investment in order to diversify sources of national income.
H.E. renewed the call to restore calm and stability across the region, emphasizing that this can only be achieved by halting the war, preventing further escalation, and moving toward dialogue and negotiation.
