During Meeting PUK’s Delegation, Sayyid Al-Hakeem Stresses National Partnership, Complete Constitutional Entitlements
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received a delegation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, headed by Mr. Nizar Amidi, this evening, Monday, 9 February 2026, at his office in Baghdad. The meeting included a discussion on the latest political developments in Iraq and the region, as well as constitutional entitlements and the completion of the remaining files related to the three presidencies.
His Eminence stressed the importance of upholding the Constitution as the governing framework of the political process, calling for the unification of the Kurdish stance and agreement on a single candidate, explaining that this would ease the task of other political blocs and help speed up the fulfillment of constitutional obligations. H.E. also emphasized the need to adopt the principles of partnership and national interest in managing these entitlements and addressing challenges.
His Eminence also called for confronting economic challenges through sound planning, moving away from the rentier-state model, diversifying sources of income, and activating productive sectors in a way that strengthens economic stability and establishes a foundation for sustainable development that benefits all Iraqis.
