Sayyid Al-Hakeem Affirms Islamic Cooperation Organization Role Importance, Calls of Islamic Stance Unity
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, on Thursday morning, 5 February 2026, met with Mr. Mohammed Sameer Al-Naqshbandi, Director of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s office in Iraq.
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem stressed the importance of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation maintaining an active presence in Iraq and carrying out its duties in a normal and effective manner, in light of Iraq’s central role in Islamic affairs, and called for shaping a unified Islamic position in response to the challenges confronting the Islamic world.
H.E. also reviewed the current political situation in Iraq and the state of stability prevailing at the political, social, and security levels, explaining that Iraq has regained its social harmony among different sects and religions, and that Iraqi society demonstrates strong cohesion as a result of the interconnection and integration among its diverse components.
