Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Bafel Talabani Stress Constitutional Commitments, Safeguarding Iraq Stability
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received Mr. Bafel Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, and the accompanying delegation at His office on Sunday morning, 11 January 2026. The meeting discussed developments in Iraq’s political scene and the nature of the upcoming entitlements, with emphasis on the necessity of adhering to approved constitutional timelines.
His Eminence recalled the legacy of the late President Mam Jalal Talabani (may Allah have mercy upon him) and the strong, longstanding relationship between Al-Hakeem family and the esteemed Talabani family, underscoring the importance of integration among Iraq’s components and prioritizing the public interest over narrow considerations.
H.E. highlighted the importance of preserving the stability achieved and working to transform it into lasting stability, assigning shared responsibility to all parties. H.E. stressed that Iraq faces economic and climate challenges that require collective national concern and action guided by a spirit of shared responsibility to address them effectively.
