Sayyid Al-Hakeem Stresses to Strengthen Yazidi Political Presence, Accelerate Sinjar Reconstruction
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received on Wednesday morning, December 31, 2025, a delegation from the Yazidi Cause Alliance, led by Sheikh Waheed Mando and MP Murad Ismail.
During the meeting they discussed the latest political developments in Iraq and the region, as well as views on the situation of the Yazidi component and ways to enhance its political role.
H.E. affirmed that the Yazidis constitute a distinctive and valuable addition to Iraqi society, one defined not by numerical size but by their meaningful contribution to Iraq’s cultural richness and diversity.
H.E. called for expediting the reconstruction of Sinjar, facilitating the return of displaced families, and creating employment opportunities for members of the component, alongside strengthening integration with other national components within the framework of Iraq’s higher national interest. H.E. also reiterated the need to intensify efforts to rescue abducted women and to honor and preserve the memory of the sacrifices made by the Yazidi community in the fight against terrorism.
