Sayyid Al-Hakeem Receives US Chargé d’Affaires, Discusses Constitutional Entitlements, Bilateral Ties, Improve Stability
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received this morning, Tuesday, December 16, 2025, in His office in Baghdad, His Excellency Mr. Joshua Harris, Chargé d’Affaires at the United States Mission to Iraq. Where they discussed the political reality in Iraq and the region, as well as relations between Iraq and Washington, with emphasis on advancing these relations in a way that serves mutual interests.
H.E. highlighted the forthcoming constitutional entitlements, affirming that Iraq is moving forward with their completion in line with the constitutional timelines, and urged all parties to support the Iraqi people’s choices in setting priorities for the next stage, particularly in service delivery, economic development, and climate-related challenges.
H.E. also underscored the need to recognize the positive messages expressed by the Iraqi people in the recent elections, reflected in strong participation rates and a clear commitment to the democratic and electoral process, stressing that supporting stability in Iraq contributes significantly to stability across the region and the world.
