    Sayyid Al-Hakeem Receives Red Cross Delegation Lead, Affirms Supporting Iraqi Institutions Importance, Consolidating Stability, Democracy

    His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received this evening in His office the Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross Mission in Iraq, Mr. Ikhtiyar Aslanov. H.E. noted that the day coincides with the eighth anniversary of defeating terrorism and declaring Iraq free from ISIS, describing it as a historic milestone in the country’s journey toward security, prosperity, and well-being.
    H.E. emphasized the importance of supporting Iraqi institutions to enable them to carry out their duties effectively, stressing the need for self-reliance, capacity building, and making use of both Iraqi and international expertise in institutional development.
    H.E. also addressed the evolving landscape in Iraq, pointing out that the elections, their results, and the acceptance of those outcomes by political powers without objection constitute clear evidence of the soundness of the democratic path and Iraqi society’s commitment to it, as well as its unity around the political system. H.E. affirmed that Iraq continues to accumulate positive gains and is approaching a transition from fragile stability to sustainable stability.
