Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Ending International Coalition Mission Evidence Iraq Recovered, Conditions Returned to Normal

At the guesthouse of the Al-Naeem sayyids, the guesthouse of Sheikh Sufyan Al-Naeemi, His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, met with a gathering of sayyids, sheikhs, and dignitaries of the tribes in Kirkuk Governorate, describing Kirkuk as the governorate of Iraqi diversity and coexistence by virtue of its national, religious, sectarian, and tribal diversity, and regarding success in Kirkuk as success in all Iraqi governorates.
H.E. pointed to the repercussions of the ongoing crisis in the region on Iraq, as Iraqi oil production and exports have declined under a budget that depends heavily on oil, commending all efforts made in preserving stability and achievements, regarding the economic situation as a difficult one, valuing the steps taken in paying salaries and the dues of farmers and contractors, and explaining that paying them is a necessity for sustaining the economy, providing job opportunities, achieving food and social security, and keeping services moving.
H.E. described the war raging today as a global war whose effects have fallen on the global economy, explaining that the resumption of oil exports will restore the economic situation to its normal state, and affirming that the end of the mission of the International Coalition to Combat ISIS is evidence of Iraq’s recovery and an international testimony to the return of conditions to their normal state.
H.E. explained the importance of sending messages of internal reassurance, achieving genuine partnership, and conducting constructive dialogue on contentious issues, affirming Iraq’s need for these steps in an Iraqi spirit and for the sake of Iraqi interest, pointing to the importance of addressing the problem of weapons outside the framework of the state, and that this should include all weapons outside the framework of the state, and reminding that the Iraqi Constitution prohibits Iraq from becoming a corridor or a base for aggression against neighboring countries.
H.E. explained that the current crisis is an economic crisis, and from this standpoint the Prime Minister was chosen to undertake this task, affirming that efforts are being made to reach internal and external understandings and to address the economic situation and the problem of weapons outside the framework of the state, calling for caution against those with agendas who stir up sectarian sentiment and try to return Iraq to previous stages whose price all Iraqis paid, warning against any voice seeking to pit Iraqis against one another, calling for confronting any sectarian talk while stressing the importance of resolving differences through social and legal understandings, and stressing the need to champion Iraq, its civilization, and its time-honored experience.
