Sayyid Al-Hakeem: International Coalition End Missions Signals Recovery, Full Sovereignty Restoration
At the press conference held in Babil Governorate following the meeting of His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, with the governorate's local government, H.E. affirmed that the purpose of these visits is to communicate with the governorates, listen to their concerns and problems, and seek to address them with the available capabilities. H.E. regarded Babil as a capital of civilization with broad potential in the archaeological, cultural, agricultural, and industrial fields, and called for investing this potential in a way that matches the aspirations and needs of the people of Babil.
H.E. regarded the end of the International Coalition's missions as a message of recovery, a restoration of full sovereignty, and an assumption of responsibility for Iraq's security, stressing the importance of administrative decentralization as a constitutional reality and affirming that Iraq grows stronger with a strong center and strong peripheries, and called for adherence to the constitutional powers of local governments.
H.E. wished Babil Governorate further reconstruction and development, commending the efforts of its local government in activating projects and sustaining them.
