dSayyid Al-Hakeem Stresses Adopting Dialogue to Resolve Issues, Strengthen Stability
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received at his office in Baghdad Mr. Joshua Harris, Chargé d'Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Iraq, and discussed with him bilateral relations between the two countries, where H.E. stressed the importance of translating agreements into applicable action programs, wishing the Chargé d'Affaires success in his upcoming duties, on the occasion of the conclusion of his assignment in Iraq.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem affirmed the nature of the challenges facing Iraq, considering the economic challenge and financial liquidity to be foremost among the challenges, due to regional events and escalation, calling for adopting dialogue to resolve outstanding issues.
H.E. called for adopting the language of understanding and dialogue as a means to confine weapons to the hands of the state, affirming that the factions' weapons contributed to confronting ISIS, and that they offered thousands of martyrs for the sake of liberating the land and restoring stability, noting that weapons are to be handed over to the Popular Mobilization Forces Commission as an official government institution, and stressing the importance of including everyone who fits the description of those bearing arms outside the framework of the state.
