Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Completing Government Cabinet Requires Political Consensus, Competent Ministers to Face Economic Challenges
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received this evening a delegation from the National Contract Alliance headed by Mr. Khaled Al-Gubbian.
The two sides exchanged views on developments in the political landscape and the completion of the government cabinet, as H.E. stressed the importance of sustaining dialogue to settle the remaining ministries, and appointing competent ministers of integrity with the capacity to manage and shoulder responsibility amid the current challenges.
H.E. noted that the economic challenge is an extremely difficult one, given the decline in oil revenues and Iraq's total dependence on them, explaining that Iraq is a country with immense economic potential yet suffers from a shortage of financial liquidity, calling for understanding this reality and supporting the government in its steps and measures aimed at stimulating the economy and addressing corruption.
H.E. also stressed the importance of Coordination Framework unity and that of all other blocs and components, affirming that internal cohesion within each component leads to national cohesion and strengthens political and social stability, and noted that Iraq is taking major strides toward strengthening stability, democracy, and adherence to the law and constitution in resolving disputes.
