Sayyid Al-Hakeem Affirms Dialogue to Improve Relations, Region Stability, Expedite Iraq’s Fully Empowered Government Formation Importance to Turkish Ambassador
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, met this morning with His Excellency the Turkish Ambassador to Baghdad, Mr. Anıl Bora İnan, to review the latest developments in Iraq and the region, as well as bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries and ways to further strengthen them.
On the regional front, His Eminence expressed hope that the ceasefire will hold, underscoring the importance of full commitment by all concerned parties, and called for the launch of negotiations aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement that secures lasting peace across the region. His Eminence also reaffirmed that dialogue remains the most effective path to resolving disputes when there is genuine determination to achieve solutions.
With regard to developments in Iraq, His Eminence stressed the importance of Kurdish political powers reaching agreement on a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, in order to ease the path for the rest of the political actors. His Eminence further emphasized that the current regional challenges highlight—more than ever—the pressing need for a fully empowered government capable of confronting security, economic, service, and other pressing issues.
